Hull vs Aston Villa Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Steve Ashfield | in Championship Predictions
Hull City start their second straight season in the Championship after being relegated from the Premier League two seasons ago. For visitors Aston Villa, it's their third in the second-tier of English football and both of these clubs have several problems to battle. Hull finished 18th in the table last season and were only eight points above the relegation zone and 26 adrift of the play-offs so there's a lot of work to be done if they want to get back into the Premier League. Their fans certainly can't complain about the number of goals they get to see with 70 scored in the Championship last season but also 70 conceded. 26 out of 46 league games had over 2.5 gosls scored and 14 out of 23 at home. New signings by their latest boss Nigel Adkins include striker David Milinkovic from Genoa and West Ham defender Reece Burke.
Their opponents reached the play-off final last season losing to Fulham. That proved to be a costly defeat and the club have serious financial problems that will surely hinder their hopes of getting back into the top-flight especially if star player Jack Grealish leaves the club. Last season Villa lacked a bit of consistency at important times of the season and ended up in fourth, seven points off the two automatic promotion places. Nine away defeats didn't help their cause either. A difficult game to predict but a bet on over 2.5 goals could be a winner if Hull carry on the way they did last season.

Our Hull vs Aston Villa Prediction
It'll be interesting to see how these two sides fare this season. With their financial problems a promotion challenge is going to be difficult for Villa and Hull have an almighty amount of ground to make up after last season's disappointing season. Villa aren't that great away from home and Hull have defensive problems to sort out, so go for over 2.5 goals in what should be an entertaining season opener.
