Huddersfield Town vs Middlesbrough Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Joseph King | in Championship Predictions
The Championship season enters matchday 25 with a set of Friday fixtures as 21st-place Huddersfield Town host 14th-placed Middlesbrough. Manager Darren Moore has experienced a bumpy few months since taking over the Terriers at the end of September. Moore has overseen 17 matches in charge of Huddersfield Town, managing just three wins, eight draws and six defeats over that time. However, an excellent 3-0 home victory over Blackburn on Boxing Day snapped a five game winless run and put Huddersfield five points clear of the drop zone. Encouragingly, it was also Huddersfield's first clean sheet in the last nine matches and their fourth in 24 fixtures this season. The victory was just the hosts second in the last 12 fixtures, meaning Moore will have to quickly improve upon his record if he is to be a part of the front office’s plans going forward.
Middlesbrough saw their three-game winning streak come to an end in their last outing, falling 1-0 away from home to bottom of the table Rotherham. It was a massively disappointing result for Michael Carrick's men who were on the path to making up ground on the playoff positions. All is not lost though as despite Boro’s 14th-place league standing, they remain just three points off the top six. However, after a fourth-place finish last season, Middlesbrough’s record of 10-3-11 is simply not good enough and fans are making their frustrations known. The 42-year-old Carrick is in desperate need of a string of positive results if he is to save his job as pressure mounts on the former midfielder. He could find it tough here as Middlesbrough have struggled away from home, posting a 1-1-3 record over their last five trips.
