Huddersfield and Blackpool meet at the John Smith’s Stadium for this Boxing Day clash in the English Championship. Huddersfield are still in the playoff race, currently sitting in 10th place and only two points behind sixth place Stoke City. Their most recent match, a 3-2 away win against Bristol City, snapped a run of four games without a win. They will face a Blackpool side who are currently 13th in the table and trail Huddersfield by three points. Before their last match the Tangerines had lost three straight in the league and were in desperate need of a win. A thrilling 3-1 victory thanks to a pair of late goals finally ending a run of seven straight without recording a win.
Both sides should believe that they can get all three points in this one. Huddersfield have been pretty strong at home and would expect to beat this Blackpool side, while the visitors have been solid on the road this season and actually have a better goal differential away from home. With both teams not having been in the best of form and each coming off a much needed win, this very well could be a tight affair. Blackpool have shown this season that they are capable of getting a result away from home - drawing Bournemouth and beating Middlesbrough, Sheffield and Reading on their travels. Meanwhile, Huddersfield’s home form has faltered in recent weeks, drawing their last and losing before that. We expect this one to be a rather tight match between two fairly evenly matched teams and the price offered on Blackpool double chance is too good to pass up.
