Houston Dynamo have picked up well after their slow start to the season and they head into their home game against San Jose Earthquakes as the favorites. The two Western Conference sides have had mixed fortunes so far, and ahead of this game, Houston have eight points, in seventh place then San Jose are bottom of the standings with two points. Houston are coming from a 3-1 win over Inter Miami, their second win in the last three matches and this of their five matches to produce over 2.5 goals. Twice in the last five matches, they’ve failed to score, and they have just one clean sheet in the five matches. This season, they are unbeaten in their three home matches so far, winning one and drawing two and in their last six meetings with San Jose, they’ve failed to score only once.

San Jose Earthquakes are yet to win a game this season. In the Western Conference, they are the only side yet to win going into Match Day 6. They’ve suffered three losses already, and have no clean sheet in the five opening games. In four of their opening five matches, they have conceded two goals or more and three of them have produced over 2.5 goals. San Jose have failed to score in two or their last three matches ahead of this one.
