The four teams to make it to the CONCACAF Nations League semis are set to battle for the final two slots in the matches set to be hosted in Denver, Colorado on Friday. USA will definitely have the advantage, playing at home, and in their semi final clash, they will be up against Honduras. Both Honduras and USA played their last friendly matches before this clash in Europe, and both lost. Honduras faced Belarus in March, in a match that ended 1-1 then in the same month, lost 2-1 to Greece and they will be hoping for a better outing here. They have no win, nor clean sheet in their last four matches, and within that run, they’ve managed two draws and two losses. Their last Nations League game however, ended in a win, as they thrashed Trinidad and Tobago 4-0 to complete their domination of Group C. Whereas Honduras have no win in the last four matches, they are unbeaten in their last five competitive matches, with four wins in there.

USA are coming from a 2-1 loss to Switzerland in a friendly match played on Sunday, the loss ending their nine-match unbeaten run. In their last 10 matches, they have eight wins and having dominated Honduras in their recent meetings, they will be confident of getting back to winning ways here. In the last six meetings between these two nations, USA are unbeaten, with four wins and two draws. They have scored in each of their last six matches, and only failed in one of 10, while in five of 10, USA have kept clean sheets. Each of their last six matches has produced over 2.5 goals and with the stakes here, we expect this trend to continue. The main attraction in this game will be Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic, who has already linked up with the team after being the first USA player to win the men’s Champions League. Linking up with the team makes them much stronger and he should be able to team up well with the in-form Sebastian Lletget who has scored four times in the last five USA matches. In the earlier round of the Nations League, USA lost once in their four matches. After a 2-0 away loss to Canada, they registered a 4-1 home win over the same opponent and in the end finished with nine points, tied with the Canadians but top on goal difference.
