Honduras squeezed into this play-off by finishing fourth in their group. They won their last game against already qualified Mexico to finish ahead of the USA on goal difference after their surprise defeat away to Trinidad and Tobago. They haven't got the best of defences though conceding 19 in ten qualifiers, equal highest in the group. Home form was good though with two wins, two draws and just the single loss to Panama. They are ranked 69th in the world but are bidding to reach their third straight World Cup finals, though they are yet to win a game when they get there. Australia finished a disappointing third in their group behind Japan and Saudi Arabia. They only missed out on automatic qualification on goal difference and their away form was to blame with one win, three draws and a loss. At home they won four and drew one so a decent result here will make them favourites to reach the World Cup finals for the fourth time in a row. They are 26 places higher than Honduras in the FIFA rankings and can get a draw here to boost their qualification chances.
