Nick Montgomery will be hoping his Hibernian team can improve on their showing when these two teams last met back in October. Rangers ran out 4-0 winners at Ibrox that day with Sima scoring twice alongside goals for Raskin and Dessers. The Edinburgh side occupy sixth place in the table and have won just one of their last five games in the SPL, although they did win the Scottish Cup on the weekend, a 1-0 away win at struggling League Two side Forfar Athletic. The Hibees have not won either of their last two home games - losing the Edinburgh derby 1-0 to Hearts on the 27th December and then following that up with a 2-2 draw with Motherwell on the 2nd January - Elie Youan scoring an injury time leveler for the home side to earn a point. Youan is Hibs top scorer this season with four SPL goals in his 19 games (with 3 assists).

Philipe Clement's Rangers have won seven of their ten away games in the SPL this season, conceding just four goals on their travels. That is the best defensive away record in the SPL, and they take on a Hibs side who have won just three of ten at home (drawing 4, losing 3). Right back James Tavernier has notched an incredible 10 goals in 20 games for Rangers this season so figures to be one of their main attacking threats. The 'Gers have lost just one of their last 13 games, a 2-1 defeat on the road at Celtic, winning 11 of the remaining 12. Both teams are averaging over 2.5 goals per game this season and with Rangers likely to employ a 4 -3-3 formation, which allows Tavernier to push forward from right back, it is hard to envisage the visitors not finding the net at least once at Easter Road.
