Relegation-threatened Verona host Lazio who are fourth in Serie A after Saturday's results. Verona are 18th in the table and five points from safety. They had a nightmare run before the World Cup break with ten league games in a row lost. Their form could only get better after that disastrous period but they still have a lot of work to do to avoid relegation. Verona have eight points from their last five league games with their last two at home both won with clean sheets. The sides beaten were out-of-form Lecce and bottom-of-the-table Cremonense, this is a much tougher task. Their defence has improved of late but can it cope with Lazio is the big question here.

Lazio are in with a good chance of qualifying for the 2023/24 Champions League. They were in fourth place after the games played on Saturday but it's still tough at the top with basically five teams battling it out for three places, assuming Napoli will easily win the league. While Lazio lost at Juventus in the Italian Cup in midweek, their Serie A form is solid. They have two wins and a couple of draws in their last four league games, including a recent 4-0 home win over Milan. Away form has seen Lazio lose two of their last three in Serie A, though the first of those was back in November. Their most recent away league fixture saw them win 2-0 at Sassuolo. Five of their nine away games in Serie A this season has been won and only six goals conceded. The reverse fixture was won 2-0 in September and Lazio can complete the league double.
