Hartlepool vs Crawley Town Prediction & Betting Tips - League Two

23rd placed Hartlepool are batting to avoid relegation to the National League. The League Two side are in the relegation zone and host Crawley Town who are one place and three points above them. Both clubs have previously been in non-league football and Hartlepool spent four seasons in the National League before winning promotion in 2020/21 via the play-offs. Last season saw them finish 17th in League Two but it's been a tougher struggle this term. They have just three games remaining but a win over Crawley on Saturday will see them escape the bottom two even perhaps just because they've scored more goals than Crawley. Going into this game, Crawley's goal difference is -24 compared to Hartlepool's -26 but the south coast side have scored three less goals. Hartlepool had gotten themselves out of the bottom two but are back there after twoo straight losses, while Crawley have four points from their two games. Both of the recent Hartlepool defeats came away from home and they failed to score in either game. Home form has seen them unbeaten in their last five league games, though four have ended in score draws. Two of their last three fixtures are at home so a win over Crawley would be highly important and a loss a total disaster.
Crawley Town's controversial owners have big plans for the club. They don't include being relegated to the National League after being in the English Football League since 2012. A win over Hartlepool will see them go six points clear with two games left and with a better goal difference. It's a long trip to Hartlepool and will feel even longer if they were to lose this game. They had gone four league games without a win before coming from behind to beat Tranmere Rovers 2-1 at home. Another vital point was earned in their last game, a goalless draw at home to Colchester United. Two of their last three games are away from home. That's a worry for them as Crawley possess the worst away record in League Two. Just one away league win has been recorded this season, a win at AFC Wimbledon in March. That's the only one of their last nine away games in League Two that they have managed to avoid defeat failing to score in six of them. Eight goals have been conceded in their last two on the road. Back Hartlepool to get a vital home win.
