Hammarby host Elfsborg at the Tele2 Arena for the fourteenth round of the Swedish Allsvenskan. The home side have started the league pretty strongly, currently occupying fourth place and just four points off leaders Hacken. They are not experiencing their best of form lately however. They have won just once since the restart of the league, also losing the derby against Djurgarden. After a strong start of five wins in five, Hammarby have looked much more shaky in recent league games, conceding in five of their last seven Allsvenskan games. They are strong at home however, having taken fifteen points from their seven games there and conceding just six goals. Hammarby will also have recent tradition on their side, winning two and drawing one of their past four home meetings against Elfsborg.

The away side are more in form lately. They are unbeaten in their last six and have lost only once in their last ten. They will need to address their defensive frailties however, conceding in six of their last seven. With regards to their form on the road, it is quite poor in this campaign so far. They have won just once, against lowly Degerfors, in their last six and have conceded in five of their last six away games. They tend to score away at Hammarby however, managing to do so in their last seven games in a row at the Tele2 Arena. In an important sidenote, Elfsborg are having a crucial European qualifier against Scandinavian neighbours Molde just a few days away, so it would not be unreasonable for coach Jimmy Thelin to rest some key players here.
