Guinea vs Tanzania Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON

Guinea and Tanzania will be aiming to secure their first win in qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations when they face off in Yamoussoukro on Tuesday evening. The National Elephants are bottom of Group H and still searching for their first point while the Taifa Stars are in third place with one point. Here’s our match prediction.

Guinea would likely have been a little disappointed to come away from Stade des Martyrs empty-handed last week when they lost to DR Congo 1-0. They had the lion’s share of possession in the match and had more shots at goal but couldn’t find a leveller after going behind. 

The National Elephants now have a record of five wins, one draw and four losses in their last 10 games in all competitions, though, they have lost their last two following a defeat to Mozambique in World Cup qualifying in June. 

Notably, though, prior to that loss to Os Mambas, Guinea had won six and drawn just one of their previous seven games on home soil, an unbeaten record dating back to June of 2023.

Meanwhile, Tanzania will be out to right their wrongs in this competition after a very poor showing at the 2023 AFCON, where they were knocked out in the group stage and failed to win any of their three group-stage matches. 

Following that competition, the Taifa Stars have played seven games, posting a record of three wins, two draws and two losses. 

After drawing goalless with Ethiopia in their opening match of this competition, they are unbeaten in their last four (W2 D2 L0).
