The final gameweek four match in Group I at the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers will see Guinea-Bissau take on Mali at Estadio Nacional 24 de Setembro on Tuesday evening. The African Wild Dogs are third in the current standings, while Les Aigles lead the group. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Guinea-Bissau suffered a second consecutive defeat in qualifying for AFCON 2025 last week when they were beaten 1-0 by this opponent in Bamako. However, the scoreline arguably flattered the Wild Dogs, who failed to manage a single shot on target across the 90. 

The result meant they remained on three points, two behind Mozambique and four off the group leaders. If Guinea-Bissau lose here and Mozambique beat Eswatini in the other match in the group, they will have to win both matches next month to have any hope of qualifying. 

However, the hosts have fared quite well on home soil in recent months, currently unbeaten in their last four games, including two wins and two draws. 

Meanwhile, despite getting the win last week, Mali would likely have been somewhat disappointed to have only got a single goal for all their dominance in the match. 

Still, the result has taken them to four matches without defeat and put them two points clear at the top of the group. Another victory here will guarantee them qualification for the main event in Morocco next year. 

Excluding the last AFCON, the Eagles are unbeaten in their last four away games across all competitions (W3 D1 L0) and have kept clean sheets in each of their last three.
