Two sides deep in the relegation fight are set to face off; 17th placed Granada plays host to 19th placed Cadiz, with three points a key target for both teams. Cadiz are on 20 points, four behind Granada who occupy the final safe spot. It has been a tough period for Granada the run up to this game; they have no win in their last seven matches. Each of Granada’s last five matches ended in defeat and they failed to score in three of these five matches. Four times in the last five matches, Granada have conceded two or more goals, a pointer to their weak defence, which has managed just a clean sheet in the last 10 matches. Granada are coming from a 4-1 home loss to Villarreal and the goal scored by Luis Milla in the 61st minute is just their third in the last five matches. It will be tougher for them at home, heading into this game with two straight home losses and a three-game winless run at their backyard.

Cadiz have done comparatively better; while Granada have no points won in their last five matches, Cadiz have managed six points in the same run. They know a win here will be a big step towards survival and getting out of the red zone is a key motivation so we expect them to give a lot. They have two clean sheets and can claim to have done better defensively than Granada, having conceded more than a goal in just two of the last five league matches. In attack, they’ve also done better than Granada, scoring in four of their last five league matches. Their away draw with league leaders Real Madrid will be a big motivator for Cadiz that they can do well on the road, and they haven’t lost to Granada in the last five meetings, though winning just once.
