Barcelona are back in the La Liga top three but not quite title contenders yet. The third placed side travel to Granada who are seventh but not in the best of form. Barcelona trail league leaders Atletio Madrid by seven points but have played two games more than rival. More catchable are Real Madrid in second, five points ahead but at least from the same number of games. Barcelona moved into the top three after a 3-2 win at Athletic Bilbao, despite going 1-0 down after just three minutes. That was their third win in four league games and all on the road. That will cheer them after some poor away displays earlier in the season. They are now unbeaten in their last seven league matches but a fair few more wins and slip-ups by Atletico are needed before they can dream of winning the title.

Granada are one place behind the final Europa League position. They trail sixth by three points but have played a game more than current incumbents Sevilla. Their form needs to be improved though with two losses in their last three league fixtures. Both were away at Eibar and Real Madrid. In between those two defeats, they came from behind to beat Valencia at home. Only Valladolid have won a league match at Granada this season. Five of their eight at home have been won including the last two. With Barcelona and Lionel Messi (two goals against Bilbao), they can continue their good run with an away win here.
