In a clash of the bottom-two teams in La Liga, it will be Granada’s turn to host basement club Almeria. This matchday 25 fixture will be played out at the Nuevo Estadio de Los Cármenes in Granada on Sunday. The hosts are 19th in the standings with 13 points and are six points ahead of their visitors who are bottom with seven points. Granada are seven points adrift of safety places, but their recent form doesn’t inspire confidence of bridging that gap. They haven’t won any of their last five league games, drawing two and losing three, although the two draws have been against better-placed teams. A 1-1 draw with Las Palmas followed by a 3-3 draw with Barcelona should have given them some confidence coming into this fixture.

Their goalless draw against Athletic Club last time out was just their second point across seven league games. This could be a massive game in the context of relegation for the visitors. They are already 13 points behind 17th-placed Celta Vigo and a loss here will leave them nine points behind 19th-placed Granada. That is likely to push them closer to the drop, but it is unlikely to draw reaction from the visitors as Almeria have lost their last 11 away league games. In fact, they have won a single point on the road in this campaign so far, which puts further focus on their chances in this trip.
