Granada will be out to stop their freefall in La Liga when they welcome Alaves for their next league game. Approaching this game second from bottom, Granada are under more pressure than 13th placed Alaves. The hosts have posted just two wins this season and come into this game as one of the two sides with the poorest defences. They’ve conceded 60 goals in the 30 matches played so far, the latest coming in a 1-0 defeat to Valencia. That loss didn’t just mark their third consecutive game without scoring, it was also their fifth straight defeat. Granada haven't won any of their last 11 matches, only collecting three points in that run. In their last 19 matches, they managed just one win, a 2-0 victory over Cadiz. The Nazaríes’ biggest undoing this season has been a blunt attack, averaging a goal a game in their 30 league matches. They failed to score in eight of their last 15 matches, and in those 15 matches, they managed more than a goal just three times.

Alaves aren’t strong in attack either but the reason they aren’t in the drop zone has to be their defence. They’ve so far conceded 24 goals less than Granada, and also beat Granada 3-1 in the reverse fixture in November. In their La Liga campaign so far, Alaves have averaged 0.87 goals a game. As they seek to complete a double here, Alaves will be aware they have the same targets as Granada – survival. They are only seven points above the drop zone so three points here will be key for Los Blanquiazules. A 1-0 loss at home to Real Sociedad set them back and Alaves will be targeting a return to winning ways here. They have one win in their last eight matches and haven't done well in attack either. Alaves failed to score in four of their last six La Liga matches. In their last eight matches in La Liga, they didn’t manage more than a goal even once. As a result, all their last eight league games produced under 2.5 goals.
