Goias will play host to Fortaleza in the fourth week of action in the Brazilian Serie A with both sides seeking first wins in the season after faulty starts. By virtue of goal difference, Goias are placed 17th while Fortaleza are 19th, with each side having managed one point. Goias have played two matches so far after their opening game was postponed. They opened the season with a 2-1 loss to Athletico Paranaense then drew 1-1 with Palmeiras in their most recent game. In their last 15 Serie A matches, Goias have managed just four wins and have no clean sheet in their last 10 league matches. At home, however, they have had a good run in recent league matches there, winning six of the last 10 and failing to score in just one. Their home league matches have been high scoring, with six of the last seven producing over 2.5 goals and both sides have scored in five of the seven.

Fortaleza on the other hand, have played three matches so far and have not managed to score. Their 0-0 draw with Botafogo in their last match stretched their run without a goal to five matches, having failed to score in two earlier matches in the Copa do Nordeste. The bluntness in attack has seen the team score in just one of their last five league matches – the 2-1 win over Bahia in the last match of the 2019 season. Last season was Fortaleza’s first in Serie A after their relegation in 2006 and while they managed a top half finish, they didn’t do so well away from home. The team managed only two clean sheets in 19 away league matches and won just four, with one of the wins being against Goias as they claimed a double over their opponents.
