Glasgow Rangers vs Manchester United Prediction & Betting Tips - Preseason Friendly
by Ian John | in Football Predictions
Glasgow Rangers face Manchester United in what is likely to be a keenly contested friendly match at Murrayfield on Saturday. The 'Gers will have the benefit of playing in their home country, albeit not at their home ground of Ibrox. In contrast, the Red Devils will be facing their second away game in succession in pre-season after playing Rosenborg in Norway before hand. Let's clarify the main factors behind our prediction for this first of two battles between Glasgow and Manchester in quick succession!
Philippe Clement's Rangers finished second to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership last season and the Belgian manager will be expected to go one step further this year. Five players left the club this summer, Jon McLaughlin, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, John Lundstram and Kemar Roofe, while Rangers have confirmed they will sign Oscar Cortes permanently from RC Lens and have also snapped up Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane, midfielder Mohamed Diomande and midfielder midfielder Brazilian left back Jefte. Their first pre-season friendly last week saw them lose 2-1 to Ajax Amsterdam.
Manchester United confirmed manager Erik Ten Hag would stay on this summer but Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, Donny Van de Beek, Alvaro Carreras and Willy Kambwala have all left the club this summer. Joshua Zirkzee is a confirmed summer signing from Bologna, with French defender Leny Yoro expected to become their next signing in a deal worth more than £50m. England pair Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw will be amongst the players unavailable due to playing in Euro 2024 or the Copa America 2024.
United fans may get a chance to see new £52m signing Leny Yoro, who could be included after making the switch from Lille in the past couple of days.

Our Glasgow Rangers vs Manchester United Prediction
Our prediction for the Rangers vs. Manchester United friendly game is: Both teams to score - no.
Rangers were beaten narrowly in Ajax in their first pre-season game in midweek, while United went down to a 1-0 defeat in Rosenborg. With teams still very much finding their way with fitness and form, and also integrating new players into the team, matches tend to be scrappier affairs.
In the four previous game between the two Rangers have not scored, while United have won three of those games. As such, backing both teams not to score in this game seems to be the sensitive prediction.
