Matchday three in Group B of the Euro 2024 qualifiers will see the top-placed France travel to face bottom-placed Gibraltar. This game will be played on Friday in the neutral venue of Estádio Algarve in Portugal. Gibraltar’s national stadium doesn’t meet the UEFA standards for hosting international games which is why they aren’t playing there. That robs them of home support and crucially some form. Gibraltar have avoided defeat in five of their last seven matches played at home, winning two and drawing three. That said, Gibraltar will face an uphill battle to even compete against France. They have lost 3-0 to both Greece and the Netherlands in their first two matches. In fact, they have never won a qualification match, be it for the Euros or the World Cups.

France have made a thumping start to their group campaign in the qualifiers. They defeated the Netherlands 4-0 on matchday one before wining 1-0 against the Republic of Ireland. It would be interesting to see how this end of the season fixture will see their stars like Kylian Mbappe find motivation. Les Bleus nevertheless have a strong record in the qualifiers. They are unbeaten across nine Euro qualifiers including four straight wins. Four of those have seen them score at least three goals, so the visitors are likely to go for a high output. Additionally, they have won their last four away Euro qualifiers which only adds to their invincibility against minnows in this match. All those victories have come with a clean sheet, so another thumping win is almost guaranteed for France.
