Ghana vs Mali Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON
by in AFCON Predictions
After beating Uganda 1-0 in their opening group match at the Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana next take on Mali. The Ghanaians gave a less-than-average performance against the Cranes, and only won through a 32nd minute penalty delivered by Andre Ayew. Mali, their next opponents, drew level with Egypt in a match that had been heavily touted to go the Egyptian way. Mali, who are playing in their 11th AFCON in history have never won the tournament before, but stand a good chance of going the whole distance, starting with a win in this match. Their best performance yet was a runners up finish in 1972. The Black Stars have played at the AFCON 20 times before, winning it four times- in 1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982. Avram Grant, a former Chelsea manager, will be riding on the strength of Ayew and the experience of Asamoah Gyan to lead Ghana to a victory. His counterpart from Mali, Alain Giresse, still counts on Bakary Sako, Modibo Maiga and Abdoulay Diaby to respond well and get the Eagles the much-needed goals to proceed in the tournament.
