With nothing to separate Getafe and Valencia in the top-ten race, their La Liga game could be an interesting battle for points. This match to be played at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez in Getafe on Friday will give an early opportunity for the teams to move into top-eight. Getafe are 8th and Valencia are 9th, both with 19 points, and are two behind eighth-placed Las Palmas. Getafe lost 2-0 to Las Palmas in their last league game which halted an unbeaten run of eight matches in the competition. This sequence saw them win just two though, drawing the other six. They have been extremely impressive at home, winning four and drawing three in the league this season.

Valencia have struggled a bit recently, with two losses and a draw across three league matches. Going further back, they have won only two of their last ten league matches which throws a question mark over their ability to close out matches. Four draws in this sequence aren’t a bad omen, if they are looking to pick up at least a point. Interestingly, both teams have scored and conceded the same number of goals, so there’s nothing much to pick on that count. Valencia’s away form could make a difference though, as they are winless across their last seven league matches on the road. This run has seen them draw three and lose four matches, but the visiting side could be fancying their chances as Getafe are set to miss a number of players due to suspensions and injury concerns.
