Barcelona begin the weekend in fifth place in La Liga but with a game in hand on the leaders. They travel to Getafe who are in seventh on the same number of points but from a game more. The home side had a terrible end to last season earning just two points from their last six games and sliding out of the Europa League places. They got this new season off to a winning start with a 1-0 home victory over Osasuna. A draw at Alaves was followed by a 3-0 win over Real Betis but their unbeaten start to the season ended with a 3-0 loss at Real Sociedad. They have lost their last four home league games against Barcelona, last getting a win on home soil in 2011.

Barcelona had a worrying summer with the possibility of losing Lionel Messi. He’s staying (at least for now) but Luis Suarez has departed, as well as Arthur and Samedo. New signings have been made though, topped by the arrival of Pjanic and Trincao. Barcelona have only played three league games this season and are yet to taste defeat. A 4-0 home drubbing of Villarreal was followed by a 3-0 win at Celta Vigo. 17-year-old Anssumane Fati scored three in those two matches, even though he was only on the pitch for 140 minutes. Barcelona failed to make it three wins out of three when only drawing 1-1 at home with Sevilla. They are unbeaten in their last seven away league games, winning the last four with 13 goals scored and one conceded. Another away win looks likely here.
