Germany vs Spain Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies
by Steve Ashfield | in Football Predictions
Germany are the defending world champions and continue the preparations for the defence of their title in Russia with a home friendly against Spain. It's a match that would be worthy of the World Cup Final later this summer and the Germans are as is often the case in good form. They won their group by 11 points winning all ten of their qualifiers and are unbeaten in their last 21 games since being knocked out of the European Championships by France in July 2016. Germany come into this game having drawn both of their last two games played last November. They drew 0-0 at Wembley against a greatly weakened England side, then were held to a 2-2 home draw by France needing a 93rd minute goal from Stindl to end on level terms. Germany are always a great tip in tournaments but not so much in friendlies with only one win in their last five but have only lost one of the last six at home including wins over Italy, Hungary and England.
Spain had a tough draw in their World Cup qualifying group but remained unbeatean and ended up five points clear of Italy and 15 clear of third-placed Albania. They scored 36 goals and conceded just three in ten games. Like their opponents they are unbeaten since losing at Euro 2016 with a 16 game unbeaten run and have hit 23 goals in their last six matches. Form in friendlies they are unbeaten in the last six with one defeat in the last 13. On their travels tey are unbeaten in their last six away friendlies, scorng at least twice in the last four.
A difficult game to predict between two of the top teams in the world. A lot depends on the strength of the line-ups put out by the two managers. Go for over 2.5 goals to be scored in what should be an entertaining game.
