Germany vs Denmark Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies
by Daniel Ngulu | in Football Predictions
The last time Germany stepped out to play, it ended in humiliation, as they lost at home to 62nd ranked North Macedonia in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. After dominating world football, the past two years have marked a decline for Germany. They will hope to initiate another successful run at the European Championships, and the preparations start with a friendly match against Denmark, to be hosted in Austria. A team currently in transition, Germany are being forced to deal with a number of issues, with key man Toni Kroos in isolation, while Bayern Munich forward Leon Goretzka has injury concerns. At least four players are also set to miss the game after their involvement in the Champions League final pitting Manchester City against Chelsea. Manager Joachim Low is set to leave his position after the Euros, having been in charge for 15 years and thus a lot is happening at the team. The memories are still there of the early exit at the 2018 World Cup and the dip in form that followed; the team is yet to fully recover and a recent 6-0 loss to Spain stands out as a stark reminder of the lows the team has hit. They haven’t lost a lot of games lately, but they’ve also not won many. In the last 11 matches, they’ve managed five wins, and lost twice, with four ending in draws. They’ve kept only three clean sheets in the process, but failed to score in just one. Four of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals.
Denmark have two wins and a loss in their last five meetings with Germany, but the most recent, a 2017 friendly match, ended 1-1. That was the third straight game in which both nations scored and we expect that this will be extended as they face off in Austria. Denmark have two losses in their last 11 matches, both have come against Belgium, the best ranked nation. Being two places above Germany in the world rankings, Denmark will feel they can match the former world champions in this game. The Danes have a fine run going to this game; they won each of their opening three 2022 World Cup qualification matches and by very comfortable margins. They beat Israel 2-0 away, thrashed Moldova 8-0 at home and thumped Austria 4-0 away. In each of their last six matches, Denmark have managed to score two or more goals, and they have eight clean sheets in their last 10 matches. Only two of their last 10 matches have produced under two goals for the Danes, and they failed to score completely in one. Ahead of this game, Denmark may be without Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen, who featured in the Champions League final but a number of top players featuring in the big leagues are available. Leipzig’s Yussuf Poulsen and Borussia Dortmund’s Thomas Delaney should be comfortable in this game, while the experienced Kasper Schemeichel and Christian Eriksen should inspire the team, coming from successful seasons at club level.

Our Germany vs Denmark Prediction
Denmark are on a great run going to this game and with both their defence and attacking departments working well, it will take a lot for Germany to break them. Contrasting runs in recent times see Denmark placed above Germany in the world rankings and this will be a top clash with both sides eyeing the best preps for the Euros. With their recent run of form, Denmark stands a good chance here and have a more stable team unlike the transitioning Germany. Back Denmark to win.
