Germany vs Belgium Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies
by Daniel Ngulu | in Football Predictions
To wrap up the first international window of the year, Germany and Belgium will face off on Tuesday in a friendly match in Cologne. Both nations won their respective matches last week. Germany beat Peru 2-0 on Saturday in their first friendly encounter. Being the hosts for next year’s continental showpiece they are not involved in the qualifiers. After a disappointing World Cup where they were, for the second successive tournament, eliminated in the group stage, they are looking to redeem themselves with next year’s Euros and have decided to prop up the next group of players who are hungry for the big stage. Coach Hansi Flick is expected to rotate the team that won against Peru but could be without the services of Nico Schlotterbeck who came out injured on Saturday.
Belgium were also disappointingly eliminated from the Qatar World Cup in the group stages which led to Roberto Martinez leaving his post as head coach, one he had held for six years. However, they began their 2024 UEFA Euro qualification campaign with an emphatic 3-0 win away to Sweden. They are as well looking to restore their aura and head coach Domenico Tedesco has had the best possible start thanks to the huge win in Sweden. Romelu Lukaku scored all three goals in the game, his first international goal(s) since 2021 and should again be involved here as he and the rest of his teammates look to build more confidence. In 11 matches between these two European giants, Germany have posted straight wins, though the last meeting between them was over a decade ago.
