Genoa vs Napoli Prediction & Betting Tips - Serie A

Genoa will play host to Napoli in gameweek four of the Serie A this Saturday. The hosts are currently in 14th place after three matches, while the visitors are sixth. Genoa come into this match following a 1-0 loss to Torino last week. That was their second loss in their opening three fixtures, with the previous one coming on the opening day against Fiorentina. Between those matches, though, the Griffins did pick up a 1-0 win over last season’s runners-up Lazio. The hosts earned promotion back to the top flight by finishing second in Serie B last season. Back in the 2021-22 season, they were beaten home and away by this opponent and have only won one of their last six meetings. It’s been a tough start for the newly-promoted team, facing Fiorentina, Lazio and Napoli in the first four weeks. While they are the underdog here, they will hope for a good performance to give them momentum with a few winnable matches incoming. 

Meanwhile, Napoli suffered their first loss of the season last weekend, beaten by Lazio 2-1 at home. That loss also brought an end to a six-match unbeaten run in the league. It also halted a seven-match unbeaten run on home soil. In their first two fixtures of the season, Napoli beat Frosinone 3-1 and Sassuolo 2-0. While they did drop points in the last match, most would expect Gli Azzurri to bounce back immediately here. They were excellent last term and cruised to the title with a 16-point margin while even stepping off the gas toward the end of the campaign. Unsurprisingly, the visitors are the out-and-out favourites to win this match.
