Genk bid to bounce back from a 2-1 away loss at Anderlecht on Saturday. That left them seventh in thhe Belgian Jupiler League and now host Antwerp who are only a point above them. They had been unbeaten in three league games before Saturday's loss. Genk have only lost one home game in the Jupiler League this season. However, of their nine games, only three have been won with five games being drawn. Their only home league defeat was inflicted by Eupen in their opening league game of the season. Their next four home Jupiler League fixtures all ended in draws (three of them seeing both teams score) but at their fifth attempt Genk finally secured a home league win. Home form has improved with three of the last four being won, most recently a 4-0 victory over Kortrijk. That made it 19 goals scored in their last six home league games but nine goals have been conceded.

Antwerp's Champions League campaign is over for the season but they did end it with a 3-2 home win over Barcelona. In the Jupiler League, Antwerp are fifth in the table but 15 points behind leaders Union Saint-Gilloise. They have lost ground in their last two league games as both ended in a draw. The most recent one saw them held to a 2-2 home draw by Westerlo, leading and trailing in that game. It took an 85th minute goal to save a point for Antwerp. Away form has seen them only win two out of nine away league games with four ending level and six have seen both teams score. We believe that stat will again come up in this Boxing Day clash.
