Galatasaray vs Istanbulspor AS Prediction & Betting Tips - Super Lig

Second placed Galatasaray host Istanbulspor who are one from bottom in the table. It seems ironic that there are football games being played in a country called Turkey on Christmas Day and it's the away team who are likely to receive a stuffing. Galatasaray are two points behind leaders Fenerbahce but it will be five if they can win at Trabzonspor on Christmas Eve. The home side are in good form at present with their last three league games all being won and 11 goals scored. Their most recent Super Lig fixture saw them win 7-0 at fifth placed Istanbul Basaksehir. That was their final fixture before the World Cup break and extended their run in the league to one loss in the last 11. They have played a few friendlies since November but their most recent match was a 1-0 home win over Ankara in the Turkish Cup. Galatasaray have only played five home league games this season, winning three of them. Those wins have come in the last four matches with Galatasaray scoring twice in each of them.

Istanbulspor are in relegation trouble with only Umraniyspor below them in the table. Only nine points have been earned from their 13 Super Lig games and they are five points from safety. Only 12 league goals have been scored and only Kasimpasa have scored less. Their form going into the World Cup break was appalling with six league losses in a row and 15 goals conceded. It hasn't got much better for them since November with two friendlies being lost and then a 3-1 loss at Fenerbahce in the Turkish Cup. Their last three away league games have all been lost. Back Galatasaray to win this and be ahead at half and full time.
