Galatasaray vs Istanbul Basaksehir Prediction & Betting Tips - Super Lig

Galatasaray will seek to get back to winning ways after a turbulent couple of weeks when they host Istanbul Basaksehir in Round 33 of the Turkish Super Lig. The hosts top the standings, with Basaksehir arriving for this clash in fifth place. With five matches left to play Galatasaray are in pole position to win a first league title in four seasons but they have in recent weeks seen their lead at the top slowly diminish. Okan Buruk’s men have not won in two straight matches and were beaten 3-1 by fellow title hopefuls Besiktas last time out after they had battled to a 3-3 draw with Karagumruk. Before this slump, Galatasaray had won three straight matches and had a seven-point lead at the top but by the time they take to the pitch on Monday, they could be level on points with second-place Fenerbahce and only two points ahead of Besiktas. They cannot, therefore, afford to drop points here but will be weary with Basaksehir having beaten them a month ago to dump them out of the Cup.

Istanbul Basaksehir managed to revenge their humiliating 7-0 thumping at home in the first matchup of the season by winning that five-goal thriller away to Galatasaray in the quarterfinals of the Turkish Cup and will feel confident of coming away with another win here especially with both teams in contrasting forms at the moment. Emre Belozoglu’s men have won their last three matches and beat Ankaragucu 1-0 in the first leg of their Cup semifinal last time out. With qualification for Europe next season via league placing out of the question for Basaksehir, IBFK will have to focus more on the Cup as a first-ever success will secure a Europa Conference League slot for next season. Basaksehir are on 51 points, 17 points adrift of the top three.
