In the first of their back-to-back Allsvenskan league matches, Gais Goteborg will play AIK Solna on Monday. This match 15 of the regular season at the Gamla Ullevi comes with a prediction of some entertaining goal-scoring action from both teams.

The hosts, Gais Goteborg, are seventh in the standings with 22 points, while the visitors, Solna, are right behind them in eighth with 20 points. Gais have a great chance to make a move up the ladder, as a win here could see them get into the top five spots. That would require them to reinvent their recent form, as they are winless in three league games.

A 3-1 loss to Sirius last time out made it two defeats and a draw for the hosts since the start of June. It’s their poor scoring record that’s hampering their move up the ladder, as Gais have scored only 17 goals so far, with only two teams netting fewer goals.

AIK are coming off a 2-1 win over Halmstads last weekend, and another win here could potentially see them move into the top-five spots at the expense of their hosts. Yet, that will require them to post consecutive league wins for the first time since the last week of April. Five defeats across the last seven league matches also don’t augur well for their ambitions.

The challenge gets tougher on the road, where AIS have lost four of their last five league games. The visiting fans could at least hope to see some action, as the last four trips saw AIS score at least one goal.
