Manchester City bounced back in resounding fashion after their 2-0 loss to Manchester United in the Premier League, handing Southampton a 5-2 thumping on Wednesday. After four straight home matches, City are set to travel to London to face Fulham in Round 29. Fulham beat Liverpool in their last fixture, taking them to 26 points, but remain 18th, in the relegation region only by goal difference. City, meanwhile, are top on 68 points, 14 ahead of their closest challenger, Manchester United. Fulham have the same number of points with 17th placed Brighton, but they have played a game more so a win over City should be a key target if the Londoners want to enhance their chances of staying up. While targeting a win over City, Fulham will want to work on their attack as the three sides that have beaten City have done so after scoring multiple goals. Fulham have scored more than a goal per game in just two of their last 15 league matches. They have scored just 22 goals this season, which is the fourth least tally but have improved defensively, keeping seven clean sheets in their last 15 matches. Fulham have conceded two goals in just three matches of the last 15 and none of these has been in their last seven games; they don’t score a lot and also don’t concede a lot. Not many goals have been seen in Fulham’s matches; in their last 10 home league games, eight have seen below three goals scored. Their most recent home wins were against West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United, and here they have bigger game to hunt so they’ll need to up their game.

Manchester City thrashed Southampton 5-2 to register their 22nd win in 23 matches and seem unstoppable in their race to the league title. They have now scored two or more goals in seven of the last 10 league matches but have just four clean sheets in the 10 matches. They have the best defence in the league as well as the best scoring record. With seven straight wins away from home in the league, they will hold the air of the favorites in this clash, as they’ve done in most of their matches. City’s depth is incredible and that’s one of the factors that have carried the team this far at this point in the season. They made five changes to the starting team that faced Manchester United and still comfortably beat Southampton. Joao Cancelo, John Stones, Rodri, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus were all dropped for this game. They have five clean sheets in eight away matches in the league but having conceded six goals in their last four matches will cause Pep Guardiola some concern.
