Fulham vs Manchester City Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Joseph King | in Premier League Predictions
Second-place Manchester City will look to go top of the table when they head to West London to take on 10th-place Fulham for matchday 34 of the English Premier League. Manchester City can take a massive leap towards their third consecutive league title and a fifth in the last six seasons with a win here. With the visitors trailing league leaders Arsenal by only two points in the standings and with a two game-in-hand advantage, the title is Pep Guardiola’s side’s to lose at this point. Fulham hold a six point lead over 11th-place Chelsea for a top half finish and trail ninth-place Brentford by two points ahead of this fixture. Fulham have a game-in-hand over the Bees, however, and will be seeking their best finish in the Premier League for more than 10 years.

Manchester City unsurprisingly come into this match as overwhelming favorites at odds of 1.25 to get the three points. Fulham, meanwhile, are at a massive price at 12.00 to walk away with the win while the draw comes in at odds of 6.00. What’s also interesting to note is that the bookmakers have Manchester City at heavy 1.07 odds to win the Premier League while current leaders Arsenal come in at 9.00 to win their first title in close to 20 years.

Fulham - Manchester City: Form Analysis
The Manchester City wrecking ball continues to blast through the opposition regardless of the competition. Guardiola and his team are on pace for a historic treble and it would seem foolish to doubt their chances given the way that they have been playing the last few months. City are playing arguably their best football in Pep’s time at the club. They romped to a 4-1 home win over Arsenal on Wednesday to all but wrap up the title in what was billed as the biggest match of the league season. In addition, Manchester City have now ripped off 12 wins from their last 13 matches with the only dropped result during that time being a 1-1 away draw to Bayern in the Champions League. Not only have the Citizens been winning their matches, but they have done so in style. City have scored 35 goals in the last nine matches and only once during that stretch have they failed to score at least three goals in a match.
The home team Fulham come into this match at Craven Cottage following a 1-0 away loss to Aston Villa on Tuesday. The result snapped a two match winning run for the Cottagers who appeared to finally snap out of an extended losing streak. Unfortunately for Fulham fans, they could be plunged right back into that situation as a matchup with Liverpool at Anfield follows the welcome of the defending champions here. Fulham have won seven of their 16 home matches this season with their last result on this ground finishing in a 2-1 win over Leeds. The hosts have been one of the more consistent attacking sides this season regardless of the venue with 23 goals scored at home and 21 scored on the road.

Fulham & Manchester City Squad Analysis
Pep Guardiola has an almost entirely healthy squad at the perfect time this season with late stage Champions League and Premier League matches ramping up. Defender Nathan Ake is the Catalan’s only injury absence ahead of the visit to Fulham. With Phil Foden back in the team after recovering from an appendicitis surgery, the 22-year-old will be hoping to get a start here but may have to settle for a substitute appearance given the excellent form of Grealish and Mahrez.
Fulham boss Marco Silva is still without his leading goalscorer in Aleksandar Mitrovic after the Serbian eight-match ban for making physical contact with a referee. Mitrovic’s absence is a huge blow to the Cottagers chances but they have shown in recent matches that they are able to get goals from different sources. Daniel James has started two of Fulham’s last three matches as the lone striker in Silva’s 4-2-3-1 formation and will likely get the nod once again in that role here. The hosts miss out on the availability of three other players as Harry Wilson, Willian and Layvin Kurzawa are all expected to not take part.

Our Fulham vs Manchester City Prediction
It certainly does not appear wise to bet against Manchester City in their current form but we simply don’t see much value in backing the visitors at this watered down price. Instead, backing both teams to get on the scoresheet could offer us a way to get some decent value from this fixture. City have been scoring for fun but have often shown the propensity to concede in many of their recent matches. Despite not having their main target man in Mitrovic, Fulham should be boosted by the home support enough to put at least one past this Manchester City defense. Ultimately we see the visitors picking up another rather routine win with a 3-1 scoreline looking the most likely result. Our Fulham vs Manchester City prediction: both teams to score
