These two clubs were both knocked out of the FA Cup on Saturday. They return to Premier League action with Fulham 13th in the table, four places above visitors Everton. Fulham were beaten 2-0 at home by Newcastle United on Saturday. That was their third defeat in the last four matches they have played. The other was the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool. They drew that 1-1 at Craven Cottage but lost 3-2 on aggregate. Now they are out of both cup competitions they can now concentrate fully on the Premier League. The Cottagers are eight points above the bottom three but have played a game more than 18th placed Luton Town. Fulham need to get some points on the board after losing four of their last five league games. They did get a big home win over Arsenal and that made it four wins from their last five league games at Craven Cottage.

Everton suffered FA Cup heartbreak on Saturday when losing at home to Luton Town. A replay looked likely but the visitors scored a winner in the 96th minute. That's the second home cup tie that the Toffees have lost this season. The other being a penalty shootout defeat to Fulham in the Carabao Cup quarter finals. Everton are only a point above the bottom three and Luton have a game in hand on them. But for the ten point deduction, Everton would be 12th in the table. There's the possibility of more points being deducted so Everton need every one they can get. Form is a worry though with no wins in their last four league games and the last two on the road lost.
