With just three games to go, Cardiff City still have a chance to avoid an immediate return to the Championship. They trail Brighton and Hove Albion by three points but will need at least four to get above them due to their inferior goal difference. While Brighton still have Arsenal and Manchester City to play as well as a crucial home game against Newcastle United, Cardiff's run-in is a bit easier. Following this game at Fulham, they host Crystal Palace before a final-day trip to Manchester United. If Cardiff do escape, then they might need to win their next two games. Trouble is Cardiff have only one win in their last five matches and that was at Brighton. They are capable of getting away results though with three wins in their last eight league games.

Fulham are already relegated after a season that has seen them concede 76 goals. As is sometimes the case, as soon as a team gets relegated, they start winning matches. Fulham have won their last two league games and unbelievably for them, not conceded a goal. They'd gone 14 league games without a clean sheet before beating Everton 2-0 at home. Before that victory they'd lost their last four home league matches. Cardiff will know this is a must-win fixture and have been playing better in recent matches without always getting the result. A double chance on Cardiff City to win or draw this game is the suggestion.
