Fulham started last season well and look like doing so again this term. After the first round of matches, they are fifth in the Premier League and host Brentford who are ninth. The Cottagers won 1-0 at Everton in their opening game with De Cordova-Reid scoring a second half winner. Fulham haven't been too busy in the summer transfer window with their largest signing being that of Calvin Bassey from Ajax for £20 million. Mitrovic is still at the club but Saudi Arabian clubs are still chasing him. Fulham finished tenth in the Premier League last season missing out on Europe by nine points. Few of their fans would have expected them to end the season 18 points ahead of the bottom three. Home form saw Fulham win eight league games with six defeats. Two of their last three league games have seen both teams score and each of the last four at Craven Cottage.

Brentford trailed and led in their opening league game at home to Tottenham. They finished last season in ninth place, seven points above Fulham. Only five away league games were won by them last season with the same number of draws but eight defeats. Two of their last three Premier League fixtures saw both teams score, though both were against Tottenham. We can hope for as exciting a game was we had between these two clubs last season at Craven Cottage. Fulham led that 2-0 but ended up needing a 90th minute goal to get a 3-2 win. The reverse fixture saw Brentford win by the same scoreline. Our prediction here is for both teams to score.
