Bayer Leverkusen suffered a surprise defeat on Tuesday when losing at home to Wolfsburg. They are fifth in the table and host Freiburg who are seventh and also had a midwek game to forget. Leverkusen had won their last three league games and been unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions but then they lost 4-1 at home to sixth placed Wolfsburg. That was a shock result considering that Leverkusen had won both their games since the Bundesliga season resumed. They conceded just before half-time and then two goals in the space of four second half minutes left them 3-0 down with just 22 minutes to go. There was no way back, especially after Wolfsburg scored a fourth seven minutes later. The loss has hit their hopes of qualifying for the Chanpions League as they slipped down to fifth place. They are level on points with Borussia Monchengladbach, who are now in fourth and will want to get back into winning ways this weekend. They have a good chance of doing so with nine away league wins so far this season winning three of the last four. 

Freiburg are seventh and now four points adrfit of the final Europa League qualifying position. That's not what the situation they expected to be in when 3-1 up at Eintracht Frankfurt with just 11 minutes remaining. They ended up drawing that match 3-3 and with sixth placed Wolfsburg getting that win at Leverkusen, a big gap has now opened up. Their defending at Frankfurt doesn't fill us with confidence of them coping against Leverkusen. Frankfurt had 35 attempts on the Freiburg goal, 25 more than their opponents created. They now have no wins in three games played since the season resumed and have lost two of their last three home league games. They have won six Bundesliga matches on home soil but lost five. Only 16 home league goals have been scored and only three have scored less. That defence of theirs hasn't kept a clean sheet in seven games and it'd be surprising to see them do so this weekend. Go for an away win in this match.
