Group F in the Women’s World Cup will start on Sunday with France facing Jamaica at the Sydney Football Stadium. The other two teams in the group are Brazil and Panama. France are playing their fifth Women’s World Cup, where they have reached the quarter-final twice before. There has been a lot of controversy around the team – especially with the non-selection of Amandine Henry for the Euro 2022 competition. With Panama and Brazil next up in the group, they know that a result here – even if it is a draw – would keep their progression hopes alive. They are coming into the tournament on a high, having defeated Morocco 1-0 in their last friendly. That said, it was their first win across eight matches in all competitions and friendlies, losing six and drawing one.
