It's almost unthinkable of the World Cup taking place next year without one of these two sides taking part. That could well happen though with second placed France hosting the Netherlands who are third in the table. France are behind Sweden on goal difference and are three ahead of the Dutch but would drop down to third if losing here. With Sweden having a tricky away game at fourth placed Bulgaria who have won all three home games this is an important few days. France have three of their final four games at home so will only have themselves to blame if not making it to Russia. The Netherlands missed out on the European Championships last year and are in danger of failing to make it to the World Cup too. They lost to France at home and away in Bulgaria and desperately need something from this game and a home win over Sweden if they are to get back in contention for at least a play-off position. Their only away win in this group has come in Luxembourg and this will be a big struggle for them so go for the French to get the home win and just about end their opponents of World Cup football next year.
