Fortuna Dusseldorf vs Schalke 04 Prediction & Betting Tips - Bundesliga

Fortuna Dusseldorf are struggling towards the bottom of the table. They are 16th in the league but might just fancy their chances of a home win against Schalke 04 who are eighth but in terrible form. Dusseldorf are currently in the relegation play-off position and three points from safety.  They are on a five-game unbeaten run in the league but the last four have all ended in draws with just a single win in the last ten. Their most recent game was on Sunday away at FC Koln and ended 2-2.  A useful point but going into the 88th minute, they led that game 2-0. That;s not quite as bad as when leading Hertha Berlin 3-0 at home in February with 26 minutes remaining. Home form for Dusseldorf has been a big problem with only three league victories and six losses. Just 13 home league goals have been scored and only Werder Bremen have managed less. They have no win their last five home league fixtures and just one in the last eight. It’s not been totally disastrous though as three of the last four have been drawn. Defending just has to be improved though with four of the last eight at home seeing them concede at least three goals.

Schalke 04 are also in poor form and two points behind the final Europa League qualifying position. They had the chance to get into the top six at the weekend with both Wolfsburg and Freiburg losing. However, Schalke couldn't take advantage and lost 3-0 at home to Augsburg. That's two straight losses since the season began with no goals scored and seven conceded. They have continued the terrible form that they had before March. Schalke have only one win in their last nine league fixtures with 16 goals conceded in the last five. They have only won four of their away league games. The last two has seen them fail to score and concede seven goals. In fact, Schalke have failed to score in their last five away league games. You have to go back to the week before Christmas when they last scored an away goal. They don't come up against  Dusseldorf every week though.  This week sees them facing two of the bottom three and they have to try and win at least one of them to keep in the Europa League hunt. It's hard to be confident about them though and the tip here is to go for both teams to score.
