Fortaleza vs SAO Paulo Prediction & Betting Tips - Brasileirão Serie A

Two sides that have made positive starts to the Brazil Serie A season will lock horns this week when Fortaleza plays host to Sao Paulo on Friday. The hosts are currently in fourth place in Serie A with eight points after the first four matches, four points behind the early leaders Botafogo and just a point above their opponents in fifth place. Fortaleza played out a 1-1 draw against Corinthians in their last match, which kept their unbeaten record for the season intact. They have now recorded two wins and two draws in their opening four fixtures, scoring nine goals and conceding four in that time. The hosts won 1-0 the last time these sides met and will be looking to extend their strong record against this opponent with another win in this one. 

Sao Paulo have also made a solid start to the league season and currently sits in fifth place with seven points. The visitors are tied on points with Fluminense, Gremio, and Internacional though they do have a better goal difference of +4. Sao Paulo won their last match 2-0 over Internacional last week, which extended their unbeaten league run to three matches, including two wins and a draw.  The visitors are yet to win in away matches this season, drawing one and losing the other of their first two matches. Sao Paulo will be hoping to bring an end to a four-match winless run against this opponent but may find it difficult, having struggled to show the same level of performance on the road as they have on their home patch in the early stages of the season.
