In this late-night Brazilian Serie A game, bottom of the table Fortaleza host Goias, who sit 12th in the division. Despite not having won in their first eight championship games, Fortaleza recorded a shock away victory at Flamengo on Sunday. Goias meanwhile, claimed an away 2-1 victory against Botafogo.

Goias have not kicked off in flying style either. They have just three wins in the league so far but they will draw encouragement from their win in the knockout phase of the Brazilian Cup, where they beat Bragantino on penalties. Being away from home suits them this season, with the visitors having won in three of their last away games.  They are also a tough side to beat, having lost just once in their last seven games.
