Fluminense are returning to the Copa Libertadores for the first time in eight years and their first act is a tough home game against Argentine giants, River Plate in Group D. The Brazilians booked their spot after a fifth place league finish, registering massive improvement from the 14th place finish in the 2019 season. With the Brazilian Serie A set to start at the end of May, Fluminense have been playing in the regional Carioca 1 and are coming from a run of four matches unbeaten and three straight wins in them.
