Fiorentina host Verona for the seventh round of the Italian Serie A. Vincenzo Montella should for his position after Fiorentina’s far from ideal start to the campaign. The midweek capitulation from Basaksehir in the Europa League was the eighth consecutive winless game for La Viola, who are also in a tough position in their Europa League group having accrued a solitary point from their opening two games. On the one hand, Fiirentina should rejoice their return to the Artemio Franki, where they have lost just once in their last twelve. On the contrary, they will need to overcome a torrid recent home record against Verona, whom they last beat in a league game at the Artemio in 2013. 

The Verona side are not doing much better either. They have picked up just solitary win in their last seven games, while conceding in their last nine. This has left them with just five points in six games, and just a point behind Fiorentina. In addition, their defence has left them disappointed of late, with Verona keeping just a single clean sheet in their last seventeen games. The upside is their recent record against Fiorentina, against whom they are unbeaten in their last six games and have not lost away since 2013.
