With Group H of the Euro qualifiers looking very tight, third-placed Finland will hope for a statement win over basement club San Marino. This matchday four will be played on Monday at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium. Finland defeated Slovenia 2-0 on Friday for their second consecutive win in the qualifiers. These came after they started the campaign with a 3-1 defeat to Denmark. With four teams tied on six points after three matches, the group is looking tighter than ever. No less than three points here will be acceptable as Finland looks to stay closer to the top-two spots. They have good pedigree in this competition with eight of their last 12 matches ending in wins. All those have come with a clean sheet, which could once again be their aim. It was also the case in five of their last six home qualifiers, which further boosts their chances.

San Marino haven’t played Finland since June 2011, the last of their four head-to-head defeats. Three of those have come without scoring, so the visitors could be looking to break that sequence. They have been beaten in all three Euro qualifiers this campaign without scoring. San Marino have lost 2-0 to Northern Ireland and Slovenia before getting beaten 3-0 by Kazakhstan on Friday. That made it 19 consecutive defeats in the Euro qualifiers since their only point won in this competition – a 0-0 draw against Estonia in 2014. It only adds to their problems that San Marino have lost every away game in the Euro qualifiers. In 37 of those 39 defeats, they have even failed to score a goal which could once again be the case here.
