Ferencvarosi Budapest vs Ludogorets Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League
by Donal Kearns | in Champions League Predictions
Ferencvaros and Ludogorets have both had strong pre-season campaigns and the Bulgarian champions picked up their first silverware of the season as they defeated Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the Super Cup last week. The bookmakers are backing Ludogorets as the favourites to win this Champions League qualifying tie on the whole as well as on Wednesday night, but we’re expecting a very close and competitive ninety minutes in Hungary. Ferencvaros have beaten Šampion Celje, Celje, CSKA Sofia, Příbram, Universitatea Craiova, and Mouscron in pre-season without conceding a goal, whilst also beating Mura 4-1 and suffering their only defeat at the hands of RB Bragantino where the scoreline finished 2-1. Similarly, Ludogorets have also only lost once in their run of friendlies before the start of the new First League season in Bulgaria, at home to Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0, but comfortably beat Triglav and Qarabağ without conceding a goal and edge out Botoşani 2-1 before winning the Super Cup against Lokomotiv Plovdiv 2-0 thanks to goals from Tchibota and Lukoki. Both teams have been busy strengthening for the most part, with the Hungarians signing left-back Civic from Sparta Praha for €1m, Michal Skvarka arriving for a small fee from Zilina, Gergő Szécsi and Dávid Gróf coming in on free transfers, and manager Rebrov using his Ukrainian ties to bring in the Shakhtar Donestk duo, Oleksandr Zubkov and Danylo Ihnatenko, on-loan. Dan Biton cost Ludogorets €1.1m from Ashdod, while Jorginho arrived from Saint-Etienne for €850k, Tchibota made the move from Bnei Yehuda for €800k, and Badji made the move from Turkey for €400k. The performances of both sides over pre-season suggest that both teams will score on Wednesday night and that the most likely result is going to be a draw. Both clubs head into Wednesday’s 1st leg having won five and lost one of their last six matches. Ferencvaros have scored in all of their last six matches, while Ludogorets have scored in five of their last six. Ferencvaros have conceded three goals in their last six matches and Ludogorets have conceded five goals in their last six games, which is why we’re backing both teams to score on Wednesday night but for the scoreline to end in a 1-1 draw.

Our Ferencvarosi Budapest vs Ludogorets Prediction
Italian forward Davide Lanzafame scored 16 times in 28 appearances for Ferencvaros last season and provides the hosts most likely source of goals on Wednesday, while Polish forward Jakub Świerczok has impressed for Ludogorets since making the move from Zagłębie Lubin in 2018 and a lot is expected from new signing Mavis Tchibota who netted 11 goals in 30 appearances for Bnei Yehuda last season. We’re confident that both teams will score on Wednesday night and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1. Both teams have been playing really well in pre-season and have strong defensive records heading into the 1st leg. A draw is certainly a better result for the Bulgarian visitors who are backed by the bookmakers to qualify for the next round.
