The Turkish Super Lig comes to a close this Sunday and among the matches lined up, Fenerbahce will be hosting Rizespor in Istanbul. For the hosts, the season is a wrap; they can’t go any higher than seventh, where they are, with 50 points, while Rizespor are now safe from relegation. The past two seasons have not been the best for Fenerbahce and they are set for another low finish here, having failed to win any of their last three matches, the most recent two ending in losses. In their last match, which ended in a 2-0 loss to Galatasaray, they dominated proceedings but two second half goals dimmed their hopes for a higher finish. In their last 17 matches in the league, Fenerbahce have led just once at half time, and only came to life in the second half and have conceded two or more goals in four of their last six matches. Their last home match ended in a 2-1 loss to Sivasspor but they have won most of their matches this season at home – 10 out of 14. They have only two clean sheets though in the 16 home league matches played.

Rizespor, on the other hand, are sitting just on top of the relegation zone, and survival is in their hands as they go to this final clash of the season. They will be keen on completing the job in Istanbul. Rizespor have managed just 10 wins in the league, but the last two have been very crucial, beating fellow strugglers Kayserispor and Malatyaspor. They have not done so well against teams further top in the standings but the momentum they have gained lately should push them in this. Rizespor have three wins and a draw in their last seven matches and have scored in five of the seven matches. What the team needs to improve on going to this game is their away form, having won just two of the 16 away league matches played this season. They have lost each of the last seven away matches and are winless in eight straight on the road. In the last six meetings between the two sides, Rizespor have been the underperformers, losing five and winning just one.
