Sevilla take the long journey to Russia this week for a UEFA Champions League battle with Krasnodar on Tuesday evening. Second to Chelsea on goal difference in Group E, Sevilla's passage to the knockout stage looks highly probable after three games. Their aim for the second half of the group stage will be to leapfrog Chelsea for a (theoretically) better draw in the Round of 16. Krasnodar have a worse goal difference than Rennes but their point in France puts them ahead of the Ligue 1 side in the group. Europa League football is probably the aim for Krasnodar unless the reverse fixture against Sevilla gave them loftier ambitions. It ended a run of five defeats in all competitions in which they conceded at least three goals per game. At home, Krasnodar are unbeaten in eight of their last ten outings. Sevilla, meanwhile, enter this game off the back of a 4-2 win over Celta Vigo in La Liga, their third straight victory in all competitions. The Andalusian club have failed to win their last four away games, but that run included tricky fixtures against Barcelona and Chelsea.
