Internazionale faces Shakhtar Donetsk in Dusseldorf in one of the most anticipated clashes as the Europa League semi finals take center stage. After finishing their domestic season without silverware, Inter saw off Bayer Leverkusen to keep hopes of bagging a trophy this campaign. Meanwhile, Shakhtar had a good showing against Basel, walking off 4-1 winners to book a place in the semis. As for Inter, they will hope to extend the good run that has seen them win each of their last five matches and go unbeaten in their last 10 games. They have scored two or more goals in each of their last five matches and have five clean sheets in their last six matches. Kai Havertz’s goal for Leverkusen in the last match was the first Inter have conceded in the last six matches but in each of the last five matches they have led at half time and went on to win the matches. In three of the last five matches the Italian side has won at half time and full time. They have also scored twice in each of their Europa League matches this season and will be outright favorites here.

Shakhtar will not offer easy opposition to Inter though; they are a formidable force in their own respect. Just like Inter, they dropped from the Champions League, having played in a tough group that had Atalanta and Manchester City. Shakhtar convincingly saw off Basel 4-1 in their quarter final clash to make it the fifth straight Europa League game they have scored two or more goals. Each of their matches in the Europa League this season has produced over 2.5 goals; they are unbeaten in the five matches, winning four but have only one clean sheet.
