Inter Milan finished their Serie A campaign and took the runners-up spot, just a point behind champions Juventus. They now turn their attention to the Europa League where they take on La Liga side Getafe. The two teams were unable to play their last sixteen first leg before the competition was suspended in March. This means they face each other in a one-off match in Germany to decide who faces either Bayer Leverkusen or Rangers in the last eight. Inter are already in next season's Champions League so the pressure is off on them on that count. They ended Serie A with a run of three straight wins. Impressive ones too with a home win over Napoli and away victory at Atalanta on the final day to clinch second place. They are on an eight-game unbeaten run and have kept clean sheets in their last four games. Inter began this season in the Champions League but finished third in their group behind Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund despite being the groups top scorers. Moved into the Europa League, Inter beat Ludogorets 4-1 on aggregate in the last 32.

Getafe probably wish this tie had been played in March. Their form since the La Liga season resumed was most disappointing and they finished the season in eighth place. Of 11 games played since June, only one has been won, a 2-1 home victory over Real Sociedad (who also struggled in the latter part of the season). Their last 11 league games produced just eight points. A form guide for the last ten league matches of the La Liga season had them 18th out of 20. Scoring goals is also a major problem for the Spanish side. They failed to get on the scoresheet in five of their last six fixtures with just one goal scored. Away form in all competitions has seen them win one of their last nine with no goals scored in any of the last four. In the Europa League this season, they finished second behind Basel in the group stages and then beat Ajax 3-2 on aggregate in the last 32. Two of their last three away games in this competiton have ended in defeat. Inter are the clear form pick here and can get the win to reach the last eight.
