Two sides that have gotten off to a decent start to their MLS season will meet this weekend when St. Louis City heads to Texas to take on Dallas at the Toyota Stadium on Sunday. The hosts are currently in fourth place in the Western Conference, with 15 points after 10 matches, five points behind the early leaders, the Seattle Sounders, and four points clear of Portland, who are the first side outside the top seven. Dallas played out a stalemate against Minnesota United in their last match, which took their recent record to two wins, two draws, and two losses in their last six league matches, while at home, they have managed a positive record of three wins, one draw, and one loss in five matches at the Toyota Stadium to date. Following a loss in their first home match this season, Dallas are now unbeaten in their last four home matches. Despite their good home form, this could prove to be a tricky fixture for the hosts against an opponent that has settled quickly in the MLS this season. 

Meanwhile, St. Louis City will be looking to bounce back from an unexpected home defeat to the Portland Timbers in their last match, where despite being the better side for large parts of the game, they slumped to a 2-1 defeat. Following that loss, the visitors saw themselves slip to second place in the Western Conference as the Seattle Sounders took the top spot after picking up a point against Real Salt Lake. St. Louis City are now on 19 points, just one point behind the leaders and also one point above LAFC in third place. After four consecutive wins in their first four matches this season, St Louis City have found it more difficult in recent weeks, managing just two wins, one draw, and three losses in their last six matches, while their away record looks fairly good with three wins, one draw, and one loss in their first five matches on the road. The visitors will be quietly confident that they can take something from this one, but it’s never an easy feat to overcome this opponent on their home patch.
